Krug champagne, the ultimate premium prestige champagne, was created out of founder Joseph Krug's dream to produce the best champagne on the market every year, regardless of climatic conditions or other variables, by individually selecting the base wines from the current and past years to blend according to his own unique methodology.
Krug Grande Cuvée is made from all three of the permitted varieties (Pinot Noir, Meunier, Chardonnay) and from grapes harvested from all of the house’s vineyards. Though it is a non-vintage champagne, no year is the same, as no particular recipe is used; it expresses the particular traits of each year. That is the reason that it released as a specific edition each year. It is created from a blend of 198 base wines from 11 different years (from 1996 through 2012), allowed to mature in the bottle for 7 years and has a low sweetness (dosage).
Taste Experience:
Krug Grande Cuvée is unique for its elegance and perfect balance, as well as the unparalleled aromatic complexity it gets from its carefully derived blend and its long maturation. It is perhaps the most gastronomic champagne and pairs perfectly with aged cheeses, foie gras and white truffles.
