Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé pays homage to the house’s founder, the widow Clicquot, who not only introduced the idea of vintage champagne, but also devised a vinification method for rosé champagne. She had invented a way to make rosé champagne in 1818. It serves as a point of reference for rosé champagnes and is among the best in its class.
Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rosé was born in 2012, a special year marked by unstable weather and extreme conditions. In keeping with the house style, this champagne comprises more than 51% Pinot Noir in a blend that includes 13% red wine. What makes it stand out is the 11% of wines aged in large oak barrels that are added, giving the champagne its wonderfully spicy, aromatic and flavourful notes. It was fermented with its yeasts in the bottle for almost 7 years before it was ready. Its sweetness (dosage) is 8 g of sugar per litre.
