In Bordeaux of France, in 1755 Marie Brizard helped Thomas, a West Indian sailor to recover from high fever. To thank her, Thomas gave her his only treasure: the secret of an aniseed liqueur made of eleven plants, spices, and fruits that were extraordinarily refreshing and fragrant. And so, Marie Brizard Anisette was born, the first liqueur of Marie Brizard & Roger. In 1765 new liqueurs were added into the range, like Parfait Amour, Fine Orange, Cinnama Liqueur, and Coffee Liqueur, and the the first exports to Martinica and Santo Domingo became a fact.
Nowadays, Marie Brizard liqueurs are exported to 120 countries and sell over 200 million bottles world wide. Extracts of aromatic herbs and fruits contribute to Marie Brizard concentrated flavour and strong aromas.
