\r\nIt\u2019s a nod to the blue Pantone number used for the bottle neck.
\r\nThe intense blue is a celebration of the nearby Mediterranean Sea
\r\nwhich influences and elevates the Minuty vineyard every day.
\r\n281 is also inspired by the visionary and revolutionary ambition of Etienne Matton,
\r\nJean-Etienne and Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s father. He began cloning the winery\u2019s exclusive Grenache in the 70s
\r\nwhich now forms the 281 vintage\u2019s best plots. So the 281 is a ros\u00e9 for celebration, haute-couture and fine dining.<\/p>\r\n

\r\nA plot selection of the winery\u2019s three main terroirs goes
\r\ninto this vintage. Grenache from a single clone is joined
\r\nby the winery\u2019s wonderful Syrah to bring in the spicy and
\r\npeppery aftertaste. Like the rest of the estate, the grapes
\r\nare grown with the HEV certification (High Environmental
\r\nValue) with specific ground cover based on soil type and
\r\nexposure. The grapes are hand-picked, something that\u2019s
\r\nessential as it locks in the grape\u2019s integrity but is so rare
\r\nto find. Next comes Jean-Etienne and Fran\u00e7ois Matton\u2019s
\r\nexpertise, knowledge of the vineyard and delicate touch
\r\nfrom winemaking to bottling to produce this extraordinary
\r\nvintage.<\/p>\r\n
\r\nTHE 281 FLAVOUR<\/strong>
\r\nA blush pink with intense and joyful aromas. The initial
\r\naroma is a delicate combination of citrus, tropical fruit
\r\nand white blackcurrant which makes way for an explosion
\r\nof aromas bursting with complex white fruit, vine peach,
\r\nsalty, spicy and white pepper notes. A scent made in
\r\nheaven melts into a dreamy mouthfeel enhanced by the
\r\nwine\u2019s body and intense grip.<\/p>\r\n
\r\nTHE 281 EXPERIENCE<\/strong>
\r\nBest served chilled (10-12\u00b0) rather than cold so the 281 can
\r\nbe beautifully paired with flavoursome dishes, premium
\r\nshellfish whether it be served simply like roasted lobster,
\r\nrock lobster in banana leaf or cooked in a scallop risotto.
\r\nSpicy dishes like Peking duck for its sweet and sour flavour,
\r\nbeef curry for its fragrant spices or delicious yakitori
\r\ngrilled with its sweet sauce. Summery salads served with
