Midori was created under a secret recipe by master blenders in Suntory, Japan. It is a melon-flavoured premium liqueur, ideally enjoyed with champagne, with juices, spirits and other liqueurs.
Midori was launched in America in 1978 at the New York`s legendary nightclub "Studio 54" at the wrap party of Saturday Night Fever. Midori took the US by storm as bartenders loved its green colour, the syrup-like texture and the fact that it is so versatile.
The year it was released, Midori was the main ingredient highlighted in "The Universe", a cocktail that won the first prize in the US Bartender Guild Annual Competition. Since then, Midori has gained an outstanding reputation among leading bartenders and cocktail designers worldwide for its excellent quality and superb versatility.
Following its success in the US, Midori was launched in Australia and Europe.
Today, it is available in more than 50 countries around the world, making Midori a truly international premium liqueur.
