The most important classic sailing yacht race in Greece, with Grey Goose Super Premium Vodka and Moët & Chandon Champagne as its Gold Sponsors
Sports and sea aficionados were treated to a unique experience from 22 to 25 June on the island of Spetses, where the international classic and traditional boat race Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta 2017 (SCYR 2017) took place. Top brands Moët &Chandon and Grey Goose were Gold Sponsors to the event, as their values perfectly match those of the race.
For the 7th year in a row, SCYR 2017 was organised by the Yacht Club of Greece, under the auspices of the Municipality of Spetses, incorporating sailing races for Classic Yachts, Traditional Yachts, and Traditional Boats. Visitors got the chance to admire rare vessels from Greece and abroad, as well as enjoy top-notch yacht racing performances. The four-day celebration started off with a kick-off party at “Bikini Bar” in the old port of Spetses, where patrons enjoyed a glorious soirée sipping the event’s official cocktail – Le Grand Fizz by Grey Goose Super Premium Vodka.
On the same night, Anna Andreadi, Chief Commissioner of the Yacht Club of Greece and member of the organising committee, inaugurated Race Village – a new addition to the institutions constituting the event. The ceremony was followed by the famous opening party at Poseidonion Grand Hotel, a grand supporter of the regatta. The Gold Sponsors Moët & Chandon and Grey Goose were the most hospitable of hosts and turned the party into an unforgettable success.
On Sunday, the entire island celebrated the completion of the race event at Poseidonio Square, as the regatta concluded with the main award ceremony for the winners of the general ranking in each category.
ALONG WITH THE OTHER PRIZES OF THE RACE, TWO SPECIAL PRIZES WERE INTRODUCED: THE GREY GOOSE GOLD SPONSOR AWARD WAS AWARDED TO THE VESSEL “ANTARA”, WHILE THE MOËT & CHANDON GOLD SPONSOR AWARD WAS AWARDED TO THE VESSEL “AFROESSA” FOR ITS CREW MAINLY CONSISTING OF OLYMPIC MEDALISTS.
